The Office of Veterans Affairs is committed to ensuring that our Veterans, families, and Veteran caregivers who call our County home receive the benefits and services they have earned. Our office provides comprehensive support for Veterans, families, and caregivers — from health care, disability compensation, and education, to housing, pensions, employment, and state- and county-specific programs such as transportation, tax exemption, and the ‘Return the FAVOR’ discount program.
Despite these resources, many Veterans face barriers such as lack of awareness, stigma, and geographical challenges. To close these gaps, we are launching a ‘Call to Action’ plan with the intent to partner with all County municipalities, Veteran organizations, and local nonprofits. We feel that local government leaders play a critical role in this effort.

Memorial Day parade and ceremony Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 11:00a.m.
The Town of Milan honored our Veterans at Veterans Day ceremony Friday, November 11, 2022 11 a.m. Special recognition was given to our Korean War veterans. Refreshments followed the ceremony.
